We are excited to offer a hybrid workshop combining virtual lectures with a full day of hands-on simulation training, breech birth video analysis, & Q&A.

This hybrid workshop includes:

A full day with Dr. David Hayes, including hands-on simulation training with a Sophie and Her Mum simulator, Q&A, and 3 activity stations (breech birth video analysis, clinical scenario flashcards, and a lesson on developing breech expertise).
Breech Pro: a self-paced vaginal breech training workshop with CPD hours, accessible for 1 year.
One year of twice-monthly optional live sessions (recordings also provided)

$530 AUD for MDs
$460 for midwives
$400 students

$265: full day workshop
$335: full day workshop + Breech Pro renewal

Instructors

David Hayes, MD

David Hayes is an Ob/Gyn with an academic background and a passion for science and its proper application to clinical medicine. He has worked for Médecins Sans Frontières and trained in critical care obstetrics. Physiologic breech birth and supporting the training of breech birth attendants are particular interests of his.

Rixa Freeze, PhD

Rixa Freeze has a PhD from the University of Iowa and is a researcher, professor, and mother of 4 young children. Her current research specialization is vaginal breech birth. She is the founder of Breech Without Borders, a nonprofit dedicated to breech training, education, and advocacy. She blogs at Stand and Deliver.

FAQs

Should I bring anything?
Yes! If you have a doll & pelvis set, please bring it so you can follow along and practice.

You may want to bring a packed lunch and a water bottle.

Please come with short fingernails (no pointed tips) and remove all rings prior to working on the simulators.

What is your cancellation policy?
If you are called away to a birth or family emergency on the day of the simulations and cannot reschedule your training date, you will receive a $140 AUD refund and keep your access to Breech Pro. Otherwise tickets are non-refundable but the simulation block can be transferred to another person.

What about COVID-19-related cancellations?
If Breech Without Borders needs to cancel due to COVID-19 or low enrollment, or if you cannot come to the training due to COVID-19-related reasons, we will offer you a $140 refund for the simulation portion. All attendees will keep their access to Breech Pro, which includes CEUs and twice-monthly live sessions with Dr. Hayes and Dr. Freeze.
